Here’s a couple of quick shots of Ice Driver’s Andy McKenna doing his day job. This time, it was a newly rebuilt Porsche 3.8 long distance racer. Freshly rebuilt, with new sequential gearbox and engine, Fraser, the car’s new owner asked Andy to jump in and put some testing miles on before his first event at Croft Circuit last weekend. Problem was, at short notice, the only place available as Teesside Autodrome, in the middle of an open track day. Teesside Autodrome is a great track and we’d urge you to try it, but running in a Porsche endurance racer while watching all the track day guys was a busy thing.
Many thanks to Howard Hunt and Teesside Autodrome for accommodating us at short notice. And how did Fraser do in the race at Croft? Third overall. Not bad at all for his first time in a left hand drive, sequential shift car on racing slicks! Let’s see if we can convince him to leave the slicks behind and come to Sweden and drive on WRC studs…
